A great update from the beginning of Connecticut Renaissance Faire to the last catering event for the year.

Starting off strong with a timeline of events, lets highlight Week to week, Month to month with where I left off in August… and Now the first weekend of CTRF.

Opening Weekend at CTRF

August 8/30 – 9/1

From the first day of set up, I knew it was going to be a ton of work, this being my first time being a solo vendor, now a business owner.

Tea booth (Princess, Fairy & Royal Tea Parties) & Whiskey Knights Tastings

Tent Rental – Private parties/ Vendor collabs

I am wearing all the crazy hats, marketing, shopping, organizing, hiring, training, setting up the space, decorating, sourcing all equipment, supplies and baking all the fresh delicious cookies!

Tent rental booth for special occasions, next to a bar, the left to that, the Tea Booth for the Royal Court tea parties.

To my surprise, I am on the main schedule of events and Map to the Faire.

It was a simple slow start, my neighbors were nice, also their first time. Double Dagger Tattoos.

Week 2 CTRF 9/6 &7/25

Getting the groove I was able to tear away from training and visit a few vendor friends. People, I have the opportunity to bond and share this magical place with you now. I could not be so enchanted to come back every season, setting up the faire and tearing it down just to do it all again the next year. It really takes a village, I am happy to call CTRF my second home.

Bear & Co – Freshly baked goods, Expanded to Wheystone grilled cheese and soups

Mel’s Magickal Meals – Tex mex foods and more!

Daen’s Originals – Viking accessories & Custom viking Weapons

Freak of Nature – Natural Soaps of all kinds

Holzbecher – Joe’s Handmade wooden mugs

Just to name a few….

As for my booth and business opportunities, I met some lovely people who would want a special party and vendors who were interested in hosting a class or two during the faire experience.

Here’s what they did and how to find them.

K&C Ceramics – Paint your own pottery

Stacey Healey, Awaken – Crystal moon wreath making

The Art Child, Alicia A. Brown – Paint & Sip

Redux For You by Sue Muldoon – Make a Turkey wing broom

This brought a wonderful, exciting and new event to the faire unlike anything before. Also an opportunity to co-coordinate with vendors I have never met, creating an awesome space where they can work freely besides their main booth.

Dual Wielding – Myth Event

During the faire in full operations, I was simultaneously operating a catering event at Myth LARP (live action role play). Of course I was driving in both directions constantly. Good thing they were on the same side of the state. With a full scale feed for 130 Larpers, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Second Breakfast.

Week 3 CTRF 9/13 &14/25

Gypsy Rose & Speed dating Event: The talk of the faire was, How do I get in? Where do I purchase admission? Will there be an encore event? It was Romance weekend, Gypsy Rose of CTRF vendors, she sells roses to those in need of that special sparkle, to brighten your day, your favorite person, lover, and friendships!

This event was so popular another was added! Many lessons learned for me, my private tent was first exposed for any vendor to benefit from the space, when it it not booked by a fairegoer for a private party.

It makes me happy to share a community space within the faire for those who can bring different opportunities to the table. My area is truly one of a kind.

Week 4 CTRF 9/20 &21/25

FINALLY! What maybe a few people could care to admit, it wasn’t easy to get the permit to serve liquor, much less get it in half the time. I was approved by the State. All my efforts paid off to bring a first of its kind experience to CTRF!

Richard, my amazing showman, featured some of the best stuff.

My charcuterie Boards were a hit. Making it means bringing it ALL!!!

Special Shout out to Leap & Lumber aka Cody (below), my wood board guy at CTRF!

We had such a blast, just keep swimming. I had such a great Whiskey party, can’t wait to do it again the rest of the season

Week 5 CTRF 9/27 &28/25

Picture your perfect wedding at a Renaissance Faire… ok now imagine you planned and executed it in 5 days. yes you read that right 5 freaking DAYS!!!

Some things didn’t pan out as I wanted for the bride and groom and that’s OK! I only had 5 days to make it happen. Enjoy the reel, I don’t have the mental capacity to go through the emotional unload that took to happen, mind you I still ran a full day of my booth, Whiskey Party and this mass party after hours.

Love you John & Ashley, thank you for letting me plan your wedding in 5 days. Lots to learn, much to practice and I BELIEVE IN MYSELF, make it happen I am a doer!

Week 6 CTRF 10/4 &5/25

Part 2 to the MYTH Shenanigans, yes, again. Let’s do this dance.

We did it! AGAIN (it was fun but hard, definitely easier than the first time). Now I can say I did it not once but twice! It was such a big difference too. Lessons learned, I’m always improving on my management skills each and every time. I love my crews, my clients and the faire fun. My husband is the MVP for riding the storm with me.

Week 7 CTRF 10/11 &13/25

It was my Anniversary, 10 years Oct 10th. Even though I had a million things going on for the weekend, my booth, my husband had a special event he registered us to go to, vendors had their special events at my tent rental AND Tea and Whiskey parties all day.

Whiskey Knights After dark, the Adult Halloween experience

We had our own private party, lots of drinks and snacks. Everyone had their enjoyment away from the dense crowds, good people, delicious drinks & Mr. Scottish Showman RICH!

At the end, it was a shitty wet Monday, no one wanted to be there. I was happy to be relaxing, I had taken my time to close up. Faire closed early with a storm brewing. Thats the faire lyfe.

Week 8 CTRF 10/18 &19/25

All ages Halloween Party & Whiskey Knights After dark Part 2

Hey it’s meeee!

So soon, too quickly. Amazing 1st run, I have so much to look forward to for next season.

Last event of the 2025 season for Dragon’s Delight Dining.

Myth Last event for the season

November 8 & 9th, 2025

Our encounters this year were magical, delicious food, more happy souls and beyond gratitude for getting to feed the masses. Enjoy a crazy amount of time with friends, loyalty, teamwork, jokes and story times.

Cheers my friends, the people I call my family. My place I call home away from home. Until next year. Y’all made it a wonderful year, Winter will be a time to shut down, shut away and reflect. Making more plans.
